Myth or reality?
During our PE lessons you often ask for permission to be able to listen music while you warm up.
Beyond the fact that I allow you to listen to music or not, I consider that it is necessary to ask ourselves what effect does has listening to music on our physical and athletic performance.
Long time ago, Anshel & Marisi (1978) found that listening to music while practising physical activity «had a positive effect on the ability to endure the task and that male subjects endured longer than female subjects».
Anshel, M. H., & Marisi, D. Q. (1978). Effect of music and rhythm on physical performance. Research Quarterly. American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 49(2), 109-113.
Since then, there have been several articles that, via the scientific method, have evaluated the effect of different kinds of music on physical performance & training.
Given that, it seems very interesting to check a review article. A review article is an article that summarizes the current state of understanding on a topic.
Here you go!

And now what?
Now that I have shared with you some scientific findings about this topic, I would like to give you the chance to choose the music that we will listen during our PE lessons the days that the activity requires it or allows it.
